A Message From Pastor Jon about giving...
Giving is an act of worship - just like singing, praying, reading Scripture and serving. We give, not in an effort to win the favor of God, but in grateful response to the depth of God's love and grace, poured out in powerful and life-changing ways. And as we give we are shaped to look and sound and live more and more like Christ.
Your gifts to OKC First further the mission and ministry and message of our church. With your resources we are making a difference- in lives, in households, in our neighborhood, in our city and throughout the world. I'm not kidding about that- your gifts aren't just shaping you, they are shaping the world as well. Thank you. Thank you for responding in grace to the Grace that will not let you go. Thank you for believing that God can move and bring life to His people, the Church. Thank you for making yourself available to the One who dares to use us and our resources to bring hope, health, life and peace.
There are a number of ways you can contribute. Each Sunday we take an offering from the people of God, again, because this is an act of worship. You will have opportunity each week to place cash or checks in the plate as it is passed down your row. We also recently installed a Virtual Offering Plate in the atrium where you can swipe your debit/credit card and designate your gift. Or, perhaps you like so many others will choose to give online. On our website you will notice several options. You can supply your checking account information for the purpose of writing virtual checks directly from your account. Or you may choose to supply your check/credit card information. If you choose that option, keep these things in mind: we do not want anyone to suffer the bondage of credit debt. Please use your credit cards in keeping with God's dream for JUBILEE- freedom from bondage and captivity.
We are so very grateful for your continued partnership in the preaching and teaching of the Good News we have in Christ.
Trust me, you are making a difference.
It's a privilege to serve with you!
Jon
